University System of Georgia increases tuition by 2.5 percent

Morgan Quattlebaum, ContributorThe Georgia Board of Regents has voted to raise tuition by 2.5 percent starting in Fall 2019. A 2.5 percent increase roughly translates to between $35 to $125 more per semester for each USG student.

AU spreads word about how to prevent heart failure early on

Morgan Quattlebaum , ContributorAugusta University held its annual Heart Failure Information Expo recently with the main focus of informing the public about the signs of heart failure and how to prevent it. There were also free screenings provided for the most common causes of heart failure, such as high blood pressure, blood sugar imbalance, sleep apnea and obesity.

AU Wellness Center promotes awareness on the risks of drinking while driving

Morgan Quattlebaum , ContributorThe Augusta University Wellness Center presented “What’s in the Bottle: Before & After,” led by peer educators informing students of alcohol awareness and safety. The event took place in the Jaguar Student Activity Center breezeway on Wednesday, Jan. 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. There was an informative booth set up with facts about alcohol consumption, safety while under the influence and how to have a fun time while still being safe.
